  • hello there

I just got a job with the BLM in Battle Mountain, Nevada. Has anyone had an experience with working out there and know what I should expect?

Cheat grass, sage brush, juniper trees….

Depending on the year they are either real busy, slower than normal, or average.

“It’s the arm pit of the world”. I worked at the Eureka station for one year and haven’t been back since. You can expect 15 or so IA’s.

It’s a good place to get your feet wet. Spend lots of time working as best as you can and when a chance to move to a new unit move on. There is bigger fish in the see.

It’s a job, nothing too special. I would not stick around there for too long, look for a different position next year.

Very hot. Drink a lot of water and Battle Mountain is known for snakes.

It’s like any other place you might work in your career, your attitude will determine your succsess and happiness. Krs hit it on the head with fuel type and fire load.

I worked out there for a season. Try for the BAM station. The Captains there are dialed in. The other station, no good Captains.
