For the last three weeks air quality in Northern California has been unpleasant. A great interactive map that will allow you to view areas of heavy smoke is available at the following link:  http://bit.ly/1oN0AtO

Another great resource for air quality information is: http://californiasmokeinfo.blogspot.com/

For today and tomorrow’s smoke forecast please view the chart below from the California Smoke Info Site.

Glad to hear folks are liking what is posted on the California Smoke Blog. We are using a model called BlueSky for forecasting and have 13 smoke monitors placed around the Klamath NF.

Yup…smoke in the river corridor. It really can get bad some years, though most will make a comparison to 87′. Its all part of living in a fire environment and paying the cost to live in such beauty.

The air quality in Nor. California and So. Oregon have been horrific. I’m just curious how these values compare with some of the “spare the air” levels that exist in heavily populated urban areas. They must be off the charts.
