Use the Internet to View Your Lotus Notes Mailbox
If you want to access Lotus Notes through the Internet Explorer while you are
away from your normal work location, follow these steps:
- While still at your normal work location, set up your Internet password.
- In Lotus Notes, click on Databases (little icon on left of window)
- Choose Workspace (first on list)
- Double-click on FSNotes Address Book.
- Just type your name, hit Enter and it will search for your name.
- Double-click your name, then choose Edit Person (top left).
- Enter your Lotus Notes password in the Internet Password option.
- Click on Save, then Close.
- Now you may access Lotus Notes from any location via the Internet.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- In the address type: entr1a.fs.fed.us/webmail.nsf
- In the pop-up window, type in your Lotus Notes name and password (either
your shortname, i.e. jblow or joeblow01 or your full name, Joe Blow)
- Unless you are actually from Region 1 and use server a, you will receive
another login window. Type in your name and password again to enter your
mail account. Now, note the address (URL) in the Browser location box. It
may look something like this:
http://ENTR1D.fs.fed.us/mail10/jblow.nsf
This is the address you should bookmark and use in the future to avoid
the double entry login requirements.
You can read and send mail from the Internet. When you first send mail you
might receive a security warning to install and run Lotus Domino Applet, if so,
choose Yes. When addressing mail, you will probably have to type out the whole
address for the person. If that person is also on notes, just type shortname@fs.fed.us
, i.e, jblow@fs.fed.us
