Paul Gleason, A Tribute
1946 - 2003

Paul Gleason influenced many of our lives, some directly with his presence; and the rest of us, indirectly with the contributions he made to firefighter safety. Many of us knew him as warm, thoughtful, funny, humble, the best kind of leader, and comfortable in his own skin. We wish he could have stayed among us longer. His memory and his many gifts to us will live on.

This fund has been established at Colorado State University to support an undergraduate student pursuing studies in wildland fire science. After he retired from a lifetime of work in wildland fire in federal agencies, Gleason continued to mold firefigher minds as faculty at Colorado State University, Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. Here's what one of his students had to say. Paul Gleason, the University Teacher
