I’m another newbie to this board but I think it’s wonderful. My husband has been a wildland firefighter for 3 years now. He started on a hot shot crew the year before we got married, and has been on an engine crew for the past 2 years. He is back on the Jackson Hotshots this year and is currently on a fire on the Kenai (sp?) Peninsula in Alaska. Today is the first day I’ve been able to talk him on the phone since he left about a week and a half ago. I am currently living in NH with our 10 month old daughter while he works on the shot crew this summer. I too understand the difficulty of having you spouse gone so often. Thanks for a place to go where I know others know what I’m going through.
