Hey everybody;

It’s been unseasonably cold in Northern New Mexico; I wore my jacket to work this morning. We’re getting three families together this weekend to start in on the firewood…four chainsaws, four trucks, two bow saws, three people to stack, and five or six kids to bundle kindling. We’re hoping to get at least six cords in this weekend, which might be ambitious, but as cold as it’s been it sounds like a real good idea. The old timers are predicting a doozy of a winter; we’ve got rodents all over the place, and the bears are coming down out of the high country already. Thinking about that, and my two-and-a-half miles of dirt driveway, reminded me of some of you ladies who are out in the wilderness as well, or have done their time. When I come in Monday with wood-stacking blisters on my hands, remind me it’s worth it, okay?
