Hi guys, I’ve checked in a few times to get the latest “news”. I have another letter from Jim Roth I will post asap
Question: None of my guys are here for me to ask- someone in a previous post mentioned failing to check the shelters for holes etc. Are the Wildland FF at the start of the fire season suppose to unwrap the shelters and inspect them and then put them back in the containers? Or do we just assume they are up to par when we buy them or they are issued them? I am surprised with all the FF around my life I have never even thought abt it. maybe they are checking them and I just never heard abt it. I Just assumed they were inspected and ready to go? Well, I think I just answered my own question……..

We have used the FS packs and some cheaper ones we bought but without exception my guys use the Eagle packs now. They are pricey but well worth the cost as far as construction and being able to stand up to the rough treatment. And the comfort level is very good. We have given them as Christmas gifts to the FF in the family and actually they were the hit of the day for a couple of them. So put them on your Christmas list with a copy of the catalog.
