Ah, a flurry of activity!

It’s been a strange season up North … busy like crazy in the East, then a lull, then a slight upturn of busy in the West … now it’s just a steady hum, leaning on the edge of slow with a threat of a little bit of rain on the horizon. I’m sure talking about it will jinx us, but it’s August — I want action (not like 2000 or 2003, mind you … just something)! Despite the strange season, I’ve managed to see my honey for about 24 hours since Mid-June. It’s hard living far apart in the summertime, because even when he came home from a long (two tour) assignment and had two days off, I was working twelve hour shifts miles and miles away. Luckily he’s on a fire now with optimum cell service, so we’ve been talking frequently, but I keep wishing for some sort of miracle … like having a day off at the same time. Wishful thinking, as usual.

How is everyone (I’m assuming there’s more people out there) else doing?

-Sue
