Sonja J-

Although there are times when I am not sure exactly where my FF is, I usually start with a check to the WildWeb dispatch for our area, but it looks like the Boise area is not on WildWeb (???). Perhaps someone else out there knows where to check resource status in that area. Some information can also be obtained from the regional GACC sit reports. Look in the “links” page of this website to find these under “WildlandFire News and Information”.

When my FF is out, I also check the website of the National Forest where the fire is located. (Link is on the Links page under Federal: USFS National Page. Enter the forest name in the search utility.) Some provide current info, some do not. There is also InciWeb, which may have some news of the fire. (Link is on the wlf News page.) Once you know the name of the fire, you can look for news articles as well. (Using the WLF News search utility on the News page.) These things don’t really follow the individual crew, but at least you have an idea what the fire is doing.

Hope this helps a bit.

I added the links to find the info in italics.
