My husband & I don’t have kids “yet”!! It is a little more lonely when he’s gone, cause it’s just me and the dogs. I’m sure your little one keeps you busy. I remember as a child, when my dad would call from a fire, and we’d pass the phone around from my brother to me then to mom. It was so nice hearing dad’s voice, so I’m sure your daughter will cherish those moments the older she gets.
My hubby and his crew are still on the PERKINS fire. He says it’s steep and warm. We have been so spoiled, compared to my grandpa and dad’s fire careers. We have cell phones, so it’s easier to hear from them. My dad said he hated standing in a “mile” long line to use the phone for 10 minutes. I totally understand!! I love it when at times, when he’s on a night shift and the fire is quiet, he’ll take a break and call me from some mountaintop. I think that is so romantic (hope I’m not bragging) that he thinks of me when he’s out there working. Unless he’s in an area with no cell coverage, I usually hear from him daily.

Well I’m off to an appointment then to my last day of work for the summer!!!

Take care and hope you hear from your DH soon again!!!
