Default Re: Ice Capping? Column Collapse?

Tower Fire...Our eyes in the sky indicate the big blow was on 25 August 1996.
The evidence: an item called the Aerosol Index (AI) from NASA's TOMS instrument. When the number gets large, that means a deep, thick smoke plume.

The AI in the core of that blob over OR equals a value we've seldom seen in 30 years of data. That's a big deal. And suggests an eruption one day before the AI spike. We're gonna order the GOES and see just how that storm looked from space.

The AI indicated another blowup day on 11 Aug 96.
Stay tuned.
