Default Re: 2009 in Review; Decade in Review; Good and Bad

I'll always remember the most significant fire experience of my career during the Victoria bushfires and mapping the locations of the 173 people who died during the worst natural disaster in Australian history. We were able to transmit real-time information to Incident Command Posts, EOC's and Victoria Police Hq directly from the fire thereby opening up restricted areas sooner so homeowners could begin to rebuild their lives.

Mobile mapping of wildfires has become a routine practice and many achievements using the technology has been accomplished since 2000.
