I am looking for some information in regards to paint schemes for Appliances and couplings. (Color coding for thread types) As it pertains to FS Region 5 equipment.

I know Black was for NPSH (Iron Pipe) and Yellow was for NH (National Hose) but what color was used for Pacific coast thread types and what color was used for chemical thread types? I can’t find the information anywhere and I think it is valuable knowledge that seems to have been forgotten.

Thanks for any information anyone can provide!

We still have a few pieces of old brass floating around at my station, mostly in my hose packs and brass box on the engine.
