I am looking for wildland firefighters that may be interested in traveling to Asia for 30-90 days to fight fire in Sumatra and Borneo. This is in Indonesia and Malaysia.

I am also looking for Incident Management staff, Air Ops folks and helitack crews.

If you are interested, please e-mail your resume and qualifications to include a copy of your red card to; chris@srthelo.com

If you do not have a passport, we can help get that for you in a day or two.

If you are interested, I recommend that you also visit the CDC website and check the recommended shots for travel.

This job is NOT with any governmental agency. It is with a private contractor.

Preference will be given to folks with the following experience;

Hotshot, Helitack, any Interagency Crew

Qualified Incident Management Team personnel

Logistics and Comms folks

Medical (Line EMT/Paramedic/Medical Unit leader)

We are still working the details out with the Indonesian government, so I apologize for there not being a lot of detail here.

When you e-mail, please list the closest major airport to you, how long you can be available for, and if you have your own safety gear, pack, tools etc.

    Hi Chris,

Does your company or job announcement have a webpage to find out more about the company?

There are 255,000,000 Indonesians . They aren’t going to
    run out of labor soon.

Any reputable contractor would identify themselves in a post

I fully expect that people answering this are going to be asked for more information like DOB, mothers maiden name , bank account numbers and Copy of passports . Further ,helping you get a passport in a day is false.

This should never have been posted.

Please review articles on the internet regarding Indonesia Fires before responding to ANY solicitation for firefighting work there. You will see that the Singaporeans, Japanese, Russians, and Australians have all sent fixed wing aircraft to Indonesia, but since recalled them home, minus the Russians. There are approximately 20,000 firefighters fighting the peat fires, but the operations are lead and run by the Indonesian military, with military firefighters. They are not using helitack crews, IHC crews, incident management teams, and ICS, nor are they requesting more firefighters. Finally, US personal passports take on average 6 weeks and can only be obtained in the 24-48 hour range by signature from Under Secretary of State Patrick Kennedy….

In short, do your research before sending your PII laden info to a stranger. Signed, your friendly government international disaster specialist.
