I did not see a notice of the passing of Tom Hamilton of the USFS.  Tom was a good friend and will be missed.  For those that did not know him, he was one of the best Logistics persons in the world, literally.  He was at the Twin Towers on 9/11, he was at Katrina and only about a hundred other major incidents.  His service was last Saturday, 7/26/2014. 200 attended with a fire crew escort of 15 vehicles from local, California State and Federal engines and crews. A great send off for a great fireman.  Rest in Peace.

Tom was the Logistics Chief n CIIMT 3 when I first was selected to be on the team. I put his trust in me and gave me pointers that I still use on ever assignment I go on. He always had that smirk on his face to where you wren’t sure if it was a good thing or not, but it was usually a good thing. He will be missed. Rest in peace Chief.

Yes……Tom was from the old school of getting things done! Good guy all around! I once put a few rocks (about 10 lbs worth) in Toms red bag before leaving a fire in Utah. I figured his payback would be ten times more after I asked him how long he carried them around at a team meeting in Reno. He just laughed if off and said “I wondered who did that for the longest time”! RIP Tom, you did GOOD!
