Passing of Steve Tome

Steve Tome passed away on Aug. 16th at the age of 61.  He managed the Ely, Minnesota Tanker Base on the Superior N.F. for many years retiring in 2011.  If you ever met him, you never forgot him.  Steve worked hard, played hard, had a gruff exterior and a keen mind.  He had a great sense of humor and kept you laughing…

Bear Cub on the Beaver Fire

Apparently there is a bear cub on the Beaver Fire outside of Yreka, CA that is in need of rescue. Supposedly, they announced on Command imploring people not to use social media to publicize the cub, in case they need to euthanize it.  If anyone has connections to a wildlife rescue organization, please see what you can do.
