Many of us feel at a loss for how to respond when firefighter lives are lost. My late husband, Paul Gleason, always tried to find a way to turn tragedy into lessons that could help save future lives. Fire science students at Colorado State University (CSU), where Paul was an adjunct professor 2001-2002 during his brief retirement, have been following in his footsteps, dedicating their careers to being leaders in helping others.
Here is an update about the firefighters who have so far benefitted from the scholarship.
I encourage you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the scholarship fund, as a way to turn tragic loss of life into positive support for wildland firefighters. The value of all personal donations made in 2014 will be doubled, thanks to an individual donor’s commitment to match these gifts. http://warnercnr.colostate.edu/paul-gleason-scholarship
