Hi Ab,

We’re trying to get the word out about a new wildland firefighting program for military veterans ages 19-35. The program is called VetsWork GreenCorps and is a partnership between the Umatilla National Forest in Oregon and our organization, the Mt. Adams Institute.

Can you help post this opportunity. Attached is a position description.

Also, is there any way to search your forums to find veterans that might be interested in this program?

Thanks,

Brendan Norman

Thanks for the info. No way to get contact info unless the vet provided it
in his/her post, which most do not. Ab.

How about having PIO do a press release on their local unit. Or go through the veteran affairs liaison on the local unit. I know here on the modoc we have good ties with are local paper. Myself as the veteran affairs Liaison here on the modoc, could pass it along to the county va office to get the word out

I also added this opportunity to my blog as a blog post about veteran opportunities here: http://research.cnr.ncsu.edu/blogs/southeast-fire-update/2014/11/21/wildland-fire-training-job-opportunities-for-veterans/
